The Great Expedition (2017) rappresenta il momento in cui un gruppo di malvagi Esploratori arriva alla scoperta del Nuovo Mondo. L’opera riscrive la storia prendendosi gioco dei resoconti dei libri di testo, descrive l’incontro surreale su una nave crociata fra Cristoforo Colombo. George Washington, il Papa, Bismarck e Napoleone Bonaparte. Una folla imponente di indigeni delle tribù di Toro Seduto e dell’Imperatore Inca Pachacuti vengono accolti come rockstars, come se il loro arrivo fosse stato preannunciato. I protagonisti sfilano verso l’accampamento militare, tra urla estatiche di gioia, pronti ad assistere ad una danza in loro onore.

“The Great Expedition” (2017) focuses on the moment a group of vicious explorers arrives to discover the New World. It blatantly rewrites history in a mockery of textbook accounts, describing the surreal encounter between Christopher Columbus on a crusader ship. George Washington, Pope Benedict XVI, Bismarck and Napoleon Bonaparte. An imposing crowd of indigenous people from the tribes of Sitting Bull and the Inca Emperor Pachacuti are welcomed like rock stars, as if their arrival had been foretold. The protagonists parade towards the military camp amidst ecstatic screams of joy ready to attend a dance in their honor.
